Totally agree, any abuse, violence and neglect in childhood often leads to problems later in life. Gabor Mate has done incredible work on giving insight to trauma and addiction. In general we live in many unhealthy ways in modern life too. Think he wrote a book called " The myth of mormal" . Plenty videos on YouTube where he gives talks and interviews. But that said we should always keep on eye on trends in diagnosis. Here in Denmark there have been an explosion on diagnosis for boys labeling them with ADHD. If they can't sit still in class they can get that label. But it's probably just a deeper symptom of the school system that is not tuned to boys learning and needs. Boys here are taught to be nice and controlled, but it's a disservice to the masculine in my view.
