I read an article that said after Brexit over 10.000 European truck drivers left the UK and that country could easily use 30.000 now, but low pay and short term visas keep people away. Thank God Mat step in and helps 😁🛢⛽

@Horizon301. yes UK is in a storm lately with Boris in front. I just read that a Road Haulage Association (RHA) survey of its members estimates there is now a shortage of more than 100,000 qualified drivers in the UK. But that shouldn't be a problem when there were approximately 1.55 million unemployed people in the United Kingdom in the three months to July 2021. And with refugees sailing in from France daily there should be plenty people to fix any problem that be gas, food or covid testing. The politicians must act now and get this thing moving again.

Much of the blame is placed on the sudden exit of thousands foreign drivers due to Brexit and the pandemic, as well as a backlog in drivers’ tests.Britain’s trucking industry relied on thousands of drivers from the EU, mainly from Central and Eastern Europe, who went home during the pandemic and many haven’t been able to get back into a post-Brexit U.K. Tax changes affecting self-employed drivers’ income have also made the prospect even less attractive. But truckers also cite worsening conditions and what they describe as a lack of respect as reasons to leave the profession.
