  7. By the 1970s, with the loss of Soviet influence in Egypt, the Soviet Union sought better relations with Palestinian militants, and Soviet arms and training were provided to militant groups. The KGB was responsible for arming and training most of the militant groups. The KGB decided which groups should receive the money and weapons. By 1972, the Soviets had declared the Palestinian movement the vanguard of the Arab liberation movement.[6] In the summer of 1974, a PLO embassy was opened in Moscow.[7] During this time Yasser Arafat had addressed the United Nations and soon the PLO was granted observer status at the UN in 1974.

  13. ​@nickmoore7598 many stayed of cause but in 1960 over 52 % of the Lebanese population were Christians now its around 30 % . So a huge drop and the Paris of the middle east started to decenting. Its terrible situation for Lebanon, I spend a whole summer there 20 years ago, had a great time.

  18. Yeah unfortunately, I just read an article in the Guardian about Gaza where they stated some Palestinian statistics and surveys done sine October 7 with Palestinians. It said 39 % supports the attack and like 35 % says it's not a political conflict but a religious conflict with Isreal. So they wanna keep fighting in the name of Islam, very scary.
