Ramaphosa was speaking at the commission investigating “state capture,” the term for the corruption under former President Jacob Zuma’s tenure in which his associates in the Gupta family allegedly won control of the much of the state and its finances. “State capture and corruption have taken a great toll on our society and indeed on our economy as well,” Ramaphosa said. “They have eroded the values of our constitution and undermines the rule of law. If allowed to continue they would threaten the achievement of growth, development and transformation of our country.”

  3.  @EricaGamet  yeah of cause prices and places vary. I was just thinking that if you make minimum vage on making pizza like $ 8-10 an hour your monthly income is only like $ 1300-1600 a month.

  10. The country brought down by currupt and criminal leaders , very sad. But if you look into the past it comes as no surprise. It was widely assumed that the ANC would soon govern but its senior officials lacked the means to live the lifestyle expected of people of standing. Businesses, for motives both pure and impure, stepped in to help with cars, homes and private schools. When businesses realised they would need black business partners, the only candidates they knew were the political activists with whom they negotiated. So, it was to them that they offered the shares and seats on boards which were essential if business was to adapt to new political realities.

Just read an article yesterday about it, it's like Sweden is heading for top position of gang killings per capita in EU this year. They have massive problems with gang run areas where they use like handgrantes and explosives too against each other. Homicides in the US is like 24.000 a year which is alarmingly high.
