I just read an article describing the vicious circle where overpopulation contributions to this self destruction. By 2050 we will be 10 billion people and all want food, housing, cars, new smart phones, fly on holiday, air conditioning when it's hot and so on. I also heard a biologists say that if all insects died, humanity would be gone in 5 years, so enjoy it while you can.

@jeremyjames7009 no matter what is going on, we are hitting one record after the other almost every year. Yes maybe weather has always been in some long changing circles, but you can't deny the facts on wildfires, temperature changes, droughts and so on around the world. I think the month of May in Denmark was the most wet since 1874. I'm almost 50 and we had a lot of winters with snow when I was a child, its very different now. We have killed off around 70 % of all wild life the last 50 years. Also the world has lost one-third of its forest – an area twice the size of the United States. Only 10% of this was lost in the first half of this period, until 5,000 years ago. Humans have been extremely destructive to nature since the industrial revolution, so great progress in technology at a high cost.
