This was always about attacking the West & putting Western values in danger. Spain never learned from its Franco era. It's still very antisemitic & xenophobic towards Israelis.

  26.  @rullangaar  Then why didn't he, along with Portugese prime minister Antonio Salazar, recognize the state of Israel like other Western nations such as France or Italy have? Why did Franco support the Arabs against Israel despite? Spain & Portugal are not Arab or Muslim-majority countries, yet Spain didn't recognize Israel's independence until 1986, while Portugal recognized Israel in 1977. France & Italy recognized Israel in the late 1940s.
