  1. No they weren't. There is no way of detecting a TV back then or now. They'd be looking through windows or listening, that's all. Think about it for heaven's sake... A tv that gives off anything strong enough to be received out in the road is going to have countless health warnings for anyone sitting in the same room as it.

  2. There have never been any TV detector vans. Come on, your whole credibility is at stake here. What you are talking about is possible in a lab, but not in practice. As for catching people using scanners of prohibited frequencies- that's just them being careless and doing it in the wrong place. Nonsense. The whole lot of this.
