  20. The 2002 SL 55 AMG was one of my favorite cars in Gran Turismo as a kid. It was so satisfying to drive because of how smooth the transmission shifted. I know it sounds weird to say that about a video game, but I swear, the transmission felt much different than virtually every other car in the game! The one in the game also had the absolutely gorgeous 22 spoke wheels. Maybe one day I will own one just because 🙂

The DTS stood for Deville Touring Sedan and the STS stood for Seville touring sedan. Lincoln tried to bring back the Mark Series from the 90s, so MKS was originally spoken "Mark S". However, Lincoln eventually preferred calling it simply "M-K-S". My point is, most of the abbreviated names of today still have meaning.

The Tacoma's tow rating is 42% less than the F150's. Sorry, I wasn't aware that that was pretty much the same thing. Same story on everything else, even the gas mileage is similar.

Currently BRZ is topping my list because it's such a great bargain imo.

  70. B58 is more laggy than people realize when it’s not paired with the ZF8 automatic with exceptional transmission tuning. Does not work as well with a manual, you want (or rather, I want) either naturally aspirated or supercharged with a manual to have that great throttle response. Everyone has their preferences I guess. Car enthusiasm is not about hp and torque, it’s about experience and feel.

  92. The Lincoln model that is based on the Ford Edge is the MKX. This car has an entirely different platform that the Edge and has almost nothing in common. It does share a platform with the Escape, but even then, the styling is totally different. I don't know where you see the Edge in this design, they have two totally different shapes.

I had the opportunity to hike Greylock from the base to the summit in July with a friend, and it was a very difficult hike, but the summit was so rewarding, as you said.   113. With a full tank of gas and a fully charged battery, the EPA rates this car at a range of 620 miles. Keep in mind that the all-electric mode is only capable of 21 miles by itself. The electric motor and gas engine work as a team until the battery is depleted, then the gas engine runs solo until the fuel tank is empty. You never have to charge the battery if you don't want to; it has regenerative braking and a gas engine that can run independently with a 14 gallon fuel tank. If you want to charge the battery, you have two options; 120v and 240v. It takes about 7 hours to fully charge the battery with your standard 120v power outlet. With the available 240v home charging station, it takes about 2.5 hours to charge. I hope that I helped you out. :)

Given it has the same engine, the only differences are weight and power. The Maxima has the greater 290 hp compared to the lesser 270 hp put out by the Altima, but the Altima weighs about 260 pounds less than the Maxima, which is a considerable amount when it comes to speed testing. It works out where the power to weight ratio in the Altima is better than that of the Maxima, therefore, the Altima is marginally faster from 0-60 than the Maxima. In this case, WE AREN'T TALKING ABOUT YOUR TUNED MAXIMA! Anybody can tune a car and make it faster, we're talking about the stock 2014 Altima and 2014 Maxima! Your 308 hp Maxima is irrelevant in this scenario. You're the one who has no idea! You assumed that because the Maxima has more power, it's faster. Never once did you take into consideration the weight difference, you simpleton. Let me know if I need to dumb this down for you to understand it better. I can tell by your grammar that you don't speak English very well.

Also in fairness, most commuter cars in Europe have had less than 3 liter engines, and in many cases less than 2 liter engines for almost ever. Whereas up until more recently, it was pretty common over here to have a thirsty ~3.5 V6 as a base engine in a family car. All that to say, we're not as well equipped as you guys, and it's our own fault really. (And you know what they say about spoiled kids 😂)

BMW is now making all of their odd numbered series of vehicles only sedans. The even numbered series cars are replacing the coupes of the odd numbered series. Ex: The 2 series replaces the 1 series coupe; the 1 series is now only offered in hatchback form. 4 series replaces the 3 series coupe. 6 series technically has always been a coupe/convertible version of the 5 series anyway (except for GranCoupe)

  150. Bruno TaTa I'm sorry, that's just not practical. I'm not getting the 4 cylinder, and I need 4x4. You have to admit that these "small trucks" are a bit overpriced. My point was, I really like this truck, but for that money I can get so much more. For instance, I can get a 2015 F-150 XL extended cab with the Sport Package and 2.7 EcoBoost V6 and 4x4 for 35k. Think of it this way, the F-150 is bigger, more powerful, and has nearly as many features for less money. That's why this truck probably won't sell that well. It's big brother the Sierra is only marginally more expensive for much more utility. And if it's a lifestyle vehicle you want, might as well just get an SUV like everyone else. Sure, some people will like it, but the idea doesn't work for me. Believe me, I wanted it to be good, but it is simply too expensive. When you say "It's not their fault you can't pay more" are you implying that I'm missing out on something? Is it also not their fault that they just lost a potential customer?

My original point was that it was stupid to even compare a Tacoma to an F150. If that guy (NOLAItsNotOva) would rather drive a Tacoma than an F150 for the sole reason that it has a floor shifter in a regular cab, he's got some problems. It also says something about the F150, though; if the only thing he can think of to say destructively is about something as petty as a floor shifter, Ford makes a damn good truck.

  155. My point was that you don't have to spend $71,000 on a Tahoe. Just because it has enough options and high-end trim levels doesn't mean you have to pay that much. A well-equipped Tahoe with leather and MyLink will cost about $55,000. While I admit it is a bit overpriced, it is still a good quality vehicle with a true, body on frame construction. Those luxury SUVs that you mentioned are nice, but they're not full size truck-like vehicles and lack the interior capacity of the Tahoe/Suburban. They're crossovers, except for the Lexus. Also, if something breaks on those cars, it's very expensive to fix. I don't think the pricing is too unreasonable.

  160. I freaking love this thing. The only thing that ever held me back from full size SUVs was how incredibly inefficient they were. With this, though, 18-19 realworld mpg is incredible, especially with Nathan driving. The fact that they used real metal on the interior blows me away. But then it would, considering how shitty the past Tahoe/Yukon's interior was. When the updated Expedition comes out, I'll be curious to see how it compares to this. I have to say, though, I definitely prefer the Yukon over the Tahoe for many reasons.

Sure, one meaning of performance is strictly statistical - how fast is it to 60, how much power and torque does it have, etc. But the second meaning, imo, is does the car make you feel special? Much like a 'performance' of music, or theater, or comedy - does it make you feel strong emotions? Does it make you feel alive? The Tesla has the speed part, but not much driving feel beyond that. Just my take.

  258. Actually, as of now, I was wrong. I'll admit it. Those updated power ratings that I gave are for the refreshed Lincoln Navigator only. Before the refreshed Expedition was released, everybody assumed Ford would carry over the more powerful Ecoboost from the new Navigator and put it in the Expedition as well, but I guess they didn't do that. Instead, it has the same power and torque as the outgoing F-150, except it reaches peak torque at a lower rpm. So, recap: 2015 Expedition: 365 hp/420 lb. ft. 2015 Navigator: 380 hp/460 lb. ft.

  259. Out of experience, I sat in the back of a 2004 F150 FX4 with the SuperCab and the rear leg room is not great. I'm 5'9" and I was a bit cramped, however, I have long legs for my height. Granted, the front seat was pretty far back. For anyone over 6'0" tall, it will be crowded in the back seat, but the front seat isn't any different than a SuperCrew. I would get the SuperCab over the SuperCrew any day just for the 6.5 ft bed though. The SuperCrew comes standard with the ridiculously short 5.5 ft. bed. You can get a SuperCrew with the 6.5 ft. bed, but then the truck becomes incredibly long and won't fit in some garages. Just my 2 cents.

  262. To be honest, they don't compete at all so you can't really compare them. The Regal is a mid-size car and the Taurus is a full-size car. The Taurus has about 600 pounds on the Regal and 107 extra horsepower. The Taurus is bigger in every way. They do have a few similarities, though; both are 4-door sedans with turbocharged engines, both have all-wheel drive, both have huge wheels, and both are overpriced.

Kia is a brand that doesn't know what it is, 10 years ago they were building undesirable economy cars and I would've never dreamed Kia would have a 420 hp V8. They've definitely come a long way, but if you're in the market for a luxury car, you've obviously got money. Why not choose the brand that has years of pedigree and refinement, BMW for example. If I were spending 65,000 on a car, I'd prefer it be a BMW 5 Series than a Kia.

  276. I'm not going to get used to it. In fact, I believe that this Edge is proportionally more expensive than most other vehicles. I think it would be acceptable at 42 or 43k. If you're talking about a Jeep Grand Cherokee, that's a much better vehicle than the Edge and it's worth a lot more. It has a V8 and a diesel, plus the interior is very luxurious on the top end trim.

  288. Look at my newest post about the Navigator. It has the same torque as GM's 6.2 EcoTec3, but since it has forced induction (twin turbos) it will do much better at altitude. The previous Ecoboost in the F-150 smoked the new 6.2 EcoTec3 in the 2014 Silverado, so an Ecoboost with equal torque as the EcoTec3 and more hp than the last Ecoboost will smoke it even more. Most of it has to do with GM's stupid transmission geared for fuel economy that keeps shifting up, though. Ford's tranny held the gears and never lost speed. We'll see about the turbo reliability though.

  305. I think you were overcomplicating overdrive a bit for yourself. In this car, simply put, overdrive is 4th gear - it is not something can can be engaged in any gear like some other cars. Essentially, drive it with overdrive on 90% of the time. If you are in a situation where you need some more torque while cruising and don't want the car to upshift into 4th, press the button to disengage overdrive and you will lock out 4th gear and the highest gear you can achieve is 3rd. Also, the 4R75W does not mean overdrive is manual. The 4R75E just means it's been equipped to run with the newer electronic throttle. Enjoyable video

  363. i wonder why ford didn't update the power output in the e series engines. They are the old power outputs. The newest 3v 4.6 v8 produces 292 hp vs this 225 in the e series. Also, the newest 5.4 v8 produces 310 hp while this one is 255. The 6.8 v10 now produces 362 hp and 457 ft. lbs. torque while the 6.8 in the e series version produces 305 hp and 405 ft. lbs. torque. If Ford had simply put the updated engines in the E series in 2009 when they refreshed, I think they'd be much more desirable.

Started smelling burning brakes/clutch - thinking wtf is wrong now, is my car on fire?! Pull off the highway, look underneath, look under the hood, no smell. Shrugged and got back on the highway (possibly the slowest 0-63). Started smelling it again, started freaking out again. Finally I see a truck on the side of the road, pretty sure a trailer tire was on fire. Poor guy, but man I was so happy

It's pretty well maintained for road use and I love it, but I feel like putting it on a track would be elderly abuse hahaha, and some components definitely aren't 100%. I just took it up to Kancamagus in NH for the second time and I was impressed with how much grunt it still has got to give; it didn't miss a beat. Realistically though, I'll be in the market for a new car sometime next year and I really can't make up my mind on what I want... again, thanks for the response, looking forward to the video!

  447. I was seeing up to 5700 lb for the 2500 with 454 on certain sites, but even still, pretty small difference between the two overall. I think the major difference is the wheelbase. The Lexus has a fairly short wheelbase of 109.8”, whereas the Suburban is 131.5”. Almost 2 feet longer wheelbase will give a lot of stability.

The main point trying to be made in this video is not the actual times, but the difference between the two times of the comparative cars. A parent should not cheap out and put their kids in an early 90s automobile to save some money. It is absolutely worth spending a bit more for a modern vehicle with all the safety advances, even if it's just a base model. So, yes to owning and enjoying this vehicle on occasion, but no to it being a daily driver in the modern era, especially if you're planning to put your kids in the back. That is not responsible. (The caveat is yes, many of us made it through eras of unsafe vehicles unscathed, and that's great. But it doesn't mean that the vehicles are any safer just because we made it out alive. In fact, modern vehicles are so much heavier than they used to be, especially electric cars.   495. ModernMuscleCar Last time they had a Raptor at Moab, it scraped its rear exhausts on a rock. Not to mention, what's so exciting about an FX4 vs Z71? Those trucks are almost standard trucks with the exception of skid plates, lockers, and slightly more aggressive all seasons. The suspension upgrades are minimal to nonexistent nowadays.

Also, again, I wasn't gloating at the wreck either, I was gloating at what I thought was the speeder getting pulled over. I couldn't see anything except cop lights at the time I was gloating. You can hear under my breath I say "what the fuck" as I pass by, because I then saw another car pulled over which I didn't expect, and I didn't want to slow way down and look It's very possible you are correct and the speeder wasn't pulled over, but I don't believe those brake lights were the speeder's car, I believe he was further ahead by then. Additionally, I didn't find out later there was a crash. I don't know if there was a crash or not, as I said, it looked like there may have been a minor incident, I could not see any damage though. And I didn't look very closely

  500.  @RobotoSan  he copied it from the, admittedly poorly written, description on my video. I saw a Prius pulled over in front of the (alleged) speeder's car with his hazards on. As I said, I did not see any damage. I cannot speak to what happened. I got about a 1 second glimpse of the scene. There may have been a slight fender bender. There may have been a totally different situation. All I know is I saw what I believed to be the speeder's car, a cop car, and a Prius pulled over on the side.

Thinking about it at home afterwards did not increase my knowledge of the situation. For all I know, the speeder didn't even get pulled over and those cars were completely different cars in an unrelated incident. I don't even know the other person, what if it was Hitler driving. Why would I automatically feel bad for Hitler?

  505.  @RobotoSan  if there was actually a car accident, I would've felt bad. However, I really don't think there was one. If anything, it was very minor. Nothing more than an inconvenience. As I said, I could not see any visible damage, which would have been obvious if it were a serious collision. But it's okay, I'm a child sociopath who writes mean YouTube descriptions, you're right. I was wrong about everything. You should've uploaded the video for me. You should've apologized to the innocent victim for me.

  508. also, Roman and Nathan aren't going for the most accurate time. They simply set up their GPS satellite system to measure the time, and floor it. Regardless of what you think is the "correct" 0-60 time in perfect conditions, they are showing you what they get while flooring it. I agree about the MotorTrend and R&T test drivers, they get the most accurate times. Your time is just as accurate as Roman's time, because it is real world testing, regardless of elevation or driving skill, etc.

For instance, you have a sidewall of 4.7" on a 17" wheel, and you have a sidewall of 4.7" on a 21" wheel. The sidewall makes up a greater percentage (36%) of the overall tire diameter on the smaller wheel compared with the larger wheel (31%). Is my thinking correct that this percentage is a more useful metric than the absolute size?
