@ararune3734 dude.. yes it has been tried, but now it could be different, technological advancements, internet, english lingua franca, multiculturalism, etc. we are powerless compared to China and India and Russia, so we better unite somehow..

naah you can do that, lets say you are Greek or Romanian, you keep your identity, but also embrace "european" way, so all countries have something in common.Its not about giving up, its about realising that we need to unite as a continent, because its 2022 and India and China have over 1bil population and more promising economies.

@BigBoomOfDoom2 a big reason we are talking english, and why english is global-international language is because of USA, after ww2, hollywood, pop music, movies, INTERNET, came from U.S Sure the seed was planted with the British empire, and harvested by the us (and expanded.) But i see this changing... If China takes over the world (which they are trying to do) i hope mandarin wont replace the current lingua franca which is english
