To be fair to most of the reporters of Linux stuff, the big thing is the Steam Deck, plasma 6.x and they did all shout out how evil Redhat closing up source was... but I definitely think more should talk about the racist red hat lawsuit.

Ha, finally the big one (adobe) has screwed up enough that people are willing to switch to something else. Sadly, Affinity is also not available for Linux.

@rhone733 ha, I mean... it really isn't. Though, you just need to look at who is sponsoring what. Though, I guess it also is useful if you state what you mean by 'Linux', like just the kernel? The userland? The desktops (which have a ton to choose from), the distros? Depends on what you pick... The Linux 'ecosystem', for lack of a better word, is quite large and beneficial to have it exist. Sadly, when you go outside of that, you are either going end up with a Linux emulation layer, or just not have any software.

@orbatos I am guessing you are replying to the wrong person, I have absolutely never thought corporations had any interests but their own. Granted, you clearly leave autocorrect on and can't form a proper sentence, so I will not blame you for not being able to comprehend whatever I may have said that gave you a clue that I thought corporations were buddies of mine. Hell, I never believed Google wouldn't be evil, and still refuse to use anything chrome based...

@orbatos Ha,youtube ate my first reply... I am not sure why you think my comment of BSD not being on the DEI train makes you think I like corporations... that ARE on the DEI train... I was suggesting that BSD may be slightly better. Perhaps you need to improve your comprehension skills?

@justanaveragebalkan I do think more YouTubers really should pick up the mantle of showing cool software more, rather than just 'here is this obscure feature that 10 people requested for KDE that is now implemented...' how many people are looking for the feature to enable HDR on their desktop? It doesn't even work correctly in Windows. Getting others to talk about any software you make seems really random.

Windows servers are only used in places where people do not actually know what they are doing. This includes places that just stick with Active Directory...

Lunduke missed the drama with Debian's KDE maintainer.

@TempCrap-nn4cm the whole story isn't public, but the maintainer for KDE quit due to some accusations of being white (from what I could tell of what was published, some disaggreements or something.) But that is why kde 6.x hasn't been added to sid yet. I went looking around, and it was because the maintainer of the packages quit after doing it for many years due to some comment he made or something. I wondered if someone could do more digging into why it all went down...
