I purchased a Kobalt metric ratchet/drive set (both deep and regular sockets) from Lowe's several years ago and the quality and performance of it are excellent. Of course my set is made in Taiwan, but unfortunately the newer ones are made in mainland China (quality issues?)

"The Stanley is made in China".....oh, the humanity! ðŸ˜

Maybe, if you haven't already done one, you could do a test/review on the 4-5 cup size coffeemakers?

Husqvarna made in Poland?

I've had excellent results with the 3M Filtrete 20x20" basic air filter; MERV rating 5; excellent non-restrictive airflow; 90-day change schedule; ~$11 (for a 3-pack) at your local home improvement store. That's all you really need for the average home HVAC system. Don't pay more for fancy restrictive filters that simply cost more without doing a better job, and may possibly cause reduced performance. I used to use the higher-end filters, but my heating system started blowing cold air. I thought at first it was a bad circuit board problem, but it was simply my using a restrictive filter that caused too much back pressure and triggered a gas shutoff in the heat exchanger. Changed over to the cheap 3M filters and the problem never reoccured.

Counterfeit battery of unspecified origin. Hmm, sounds vaguely familiar.

Umm...right.

Sadly, the days of quality, USA made toolsets are virtually over. Unless you can find an older, used Craftsman set, or shell out an absurd amount of money for Snap-On, you’re out of luck. Some tool sets made in Taiwan are still of great quality, such as the GearWrench brand, if you can find them at a decent price online. Depending on the size of the set, you’ll pay from $100 to $250 with a lifetime guarantee.

Where does he get all these wonderful toys?!

For a cost effective EDC knife, go with the Ontario RAT II @ $24, or the SOG @ $46. My favorite is the Ontario, which I've owned for some time now. Lightweight, and unbeatable quality for the money.

The best blender I've ever used/owned has to be the KitchenAid RKSB650 (sadly no longer made). Made in USA, cost $99 new and performs like a champ. Crushes ice perfectly with no cubes left over. Why KicthenAid ever discontinued this model is baffling. Cheers!

I remember many years ago that some repair shops REQUIRED their mechanics to purchase only Snap-On tools. They even had a Snap-On truck that would make the rounds to each shop and replace any of their tools that were broken or defective. Of course, even back then they cost an arm and a leg. Only exception was Sears, which of course allowed their mechanics to use their Craftsman brand. Just as good, and far less expensive. 🔧

I'm sure that Scotty Kilmer would approve.

So which tumbler, exactly, is the one that "destroys" the Stanley? I watched the whole video and it wasn't made clear who the winner was.

Purchased a Bondhus 9-piece metric (gold finish) set many years ago for around $7--still going strong, although I use it mainly for bicycle maintenance. Same set today is around $14, but still USA-made and a great value. Most people won't expose these products to the extreme torture tests shown in this video, so go with an affordable set, rather than the high-end stuff.

When I see all of these formerly USA-made tools now made in China....I just go insane!

My personal favorite would be the PowerPro One made by Hillman. Comes with a T25 bit and drills through wood like a champ, no pre-drilling required. Not the cheapest at $0.20 each, but I don't use very many, so I'm willing to pay for better performance.

For what it's worth, the absolute best CNC machines are made in Germany. Which is what the Chinese manufacturers use for high-end precision work. They use their own cheaper machines for making knives, etc. I personally refuse to buy ANY knives made in China, for both quality and political reasons. Taiwan made knives usually give you great quality at reasonable pricing. My Ontario RAT II only cost me around $27 made with AUS-8 steel, or you can opt for the D2 model for around $40. Cheers.

I'll keep my made-in-USA vintage Craftsman wrenches. I have both SAE and metric sets--never had a problem with either.

For the money, you can't beat Kirkland Signature Men's Jeans, $13.99 at Costco. Mine are made in Mexico, but that may have changed since I purchased them.

Black+Decker is the best bet, considering all factors. Two year warranty for $25 and great performance. Who cares about the crumb tray?
