What is it with the people in Utah? Mitt Romney (RINO), before him Orrin Hatch (RINO)... The only halfway decent Senator they've had in the last 30 years was Jake Garn. I know that over 70% of people in Utah are LDS, but can't they ever overlook religion and simply elect someone to the U.S. Senate that's a MAGA conservative?

@cindihunter9119 If you carefully reread my comment, you will see that I noted that most (70%), but not all, people in Utah are LDS. So if a candidate for political office also happens to be LDS, he/she has a built in advantage. Back in 2012, when Romney was running against Obama, we had some LDS friends who were overjoyed that Romney was the Republican candidate. When I asked them if they were voting for Romney because he was a Republican or a Mormon, they replied, “LDS, of course.” This is why the country is in such a mess—religious sectarianism.
