  1. "Right wing" does NOT = "proto-fascist." Fascism is a LEFT-wing social philosophy, Both in Italy and Germany, Fascism had its roots in socialist groups, not in conservative groups. NSDAP = National SOCIALIST German Workers Party. And this is evident in today's U.S. society. ALL of the authoritarian/fascist movements we see are LEFT-wing in origin and philosophy. As far as what might "trigger" a revolution in America, it won't come from either the left or the right. It will come when average, middle-of-the road Americans throw off the pretensions of BOTH the left and the right, and embrace populism. Trump was neither right nor left, which explains his broad appeal to middle America. When the revolution finally takes place, it won't be pretty. "Beware of the anger of a patient man." (ancient Irish proverb). This saying warns of pushing even the most patient and accommodating of (middle class) people too far.

  2. Chris Hedges calls himself "Biblically literate," but then accuses other Christians of believing that Adam & Eve saddled up a T. Rex in the Garden of Eden? I've been a Christian for well over 40 years, and I've NEVER met or heard of another Christian that believes such nonsense. Chris Hedges' attempt to conflate the radical right with Biblical Christianity is woefully misguided. I expected better of him, but then he apparently is also a victim of TDS.
