$800 USD = ~ €745. It's a good thing that you don't have to pay rent, as more than half of your pension would go to leasing a 1-br apartment (€425) in Split. Other than that, you've done a good job in showing the cost of living in that city. The only things that would cost more in Split would be milk and petrol/gasoline, but if you're not a milk drinker or don't own a car, then those items wouldn't matter. Overall, it appears that living in Split would be about 50-60% cheaper than your average U.S. city, such as Boise, Idaho. Cheers.

@paulfelkner6749 Well, with respect to housing, cost of living, groceries and transportation, I would say so. Boise is far more representative of an “average” U.S. city than any major cities on the West Coast or the Northeast parts of the country. It’s probably a bit more expensive than parts of the Midwest or Southeast. Cheers.
