  1. I’ve never understood the rationale behind this search for “another Earth.” We’ve already screwed up our own home planet, so what makes us think we won’t do the same to a new one? Humankind is a disease, a plague upon the universe.

  2.  @pennypapakosta5949  You, and others like you, see this life through rose-coloured glasses. Stop being a Pollyanna and get a dose of reality. And I'm not "ashamed of my own kind," but simply do not see any good thing in humanity that's worth propagating to another planet (which we'll never reach anyway, as FTL interstellar travel is impossible for ANYONE, including Jean Luc-Picard). And your "when worlds collide" scenario is pulp fiction from the 1950's. No, planet Earth is our forever home, and we had better get our act together to save it from the corporate destroyers. Or to quote Mark Twain, “The more I learn about people, the more I like my dog.” Cheers.
