Of course they are. I mean why tell people in the market for a home that they should wait a year or two before buying (at lower prices). No sales commission in that approach.

Which is what I keep telling everyone that will listen. Don't be fooled by the lack of a (state) income tax in place like Texas or Florida. What you save will be more than offset by high property taxes, sales taxes, and utility bills. The same applies, to a lesser degree, in Nevada, especially in Las Vegas. No state income tax there either, but watch out for other taxes, PLUS, southern Nevada may soon run out of water. Try living in Vegas with no water or electricity flowing from an empty Lake Mead. Of course you could always opt for the Reno/Tahoe area, but most of the good property has already been bought up by wealthy Californians.

Median sale price for a SFH in Meridian, ID July 2017: $285,000. Fast forward 5 years to July 2022, now it's $568,000. We couldn't afford to rebuy the same house we're living in.
