Rivian stock peaked at $146 on the Nasdaq 11/13/21. Currently stands at $26 per share--heading for $0. Object lesson in buying an idea that will never be practical. You're far better of buying a Ford F-150 Lariat 3.5L V6 Hybrid 4WD, which can carry can carry up to 1,762 pounds, and has a rated towing capacity of 5,100 pounds. Plus, Ford isn't going to go out of business any time soon. The 2022 Rivian R1T model STARTS at $79,500, while you can get a base model F-150 for $46,350. If you need to go even cheaper, the 2022 Ford Maverick Hybrid truck has a starting price of $19,995 (with a $1,495 destination fee), and the hybrid powertrain comes standard. The Maverick has an EPA rating of 42 mpg city, 33 mpg highway. So why, really, would any sane person buy a Rivian? (And, no, I'm not a Ford dealer or stockholder).
