  2.  @patrickharty9214  Actually, it's the "Bering" Strait. And the only time that there was a contiguous border was during the last ice age, c. 11,700 years ago, when climatic conditions resulted in the Strait being frozen over with ice. Under today's (warmer) climate there exists approximately 82.5 kilometers (51.3 mi) of open sea between Russia and Alaska. So, no, we do not really "share a border" with Russia. Cheers.
