“There seems to have been an actual decline in rational thinking. The United States had become a place where entertainers and professional athletes were mistaken for people of importance. They were idolized and treated as leaders; their opinions were sought on everything and they took themselves just as seriously-after all, if an athlete is paid a million or more a year, he knows he is important ... so his opinions of foreign affairs and domestic policies must be important, too, even though he proves himself to be ignorant and subliterate every time he opens his mouth.” Robert A. Heinlein, “To Sail Beyond the Sunset” (1987)

@abalalalalal It's a proper word, an adjective describing one who has inferior literacy skills; a person who reads and comprehends at the comic book level. I'm sure that in whatever part of the space-time continuum Mr. Heinlein currently occupies, he would be pleased for you to incorporate this word into your daily conversation(s). Cheers.

@imustbecrazy5626 Yep. Starship Troopers won the Hugo Award for Best Novel in 1960. It has been acknowledged as one of the best-known and most influential works of science fiction. First published in 1959, the novel is considered a landmark for the genre, having been described by a 1960 review as one of the ten best genre books of that year. I've read the original novel, and while the 1997 film adaptation changed some of the plot devices and characters, it still remains one of my all time favorite sci-fi stories. Cheers.
