  1. Coming of age during the 1950’s and 1960’s, we never concerned ourselves with such matters. It was all in the realm of science fiction as far as we were concerned. The only moment that things got real was during the 1962 Cuban missile crisis. But it was short lived, and world leaders decided to go to the negotiating table to prevent any such reoccurrence. Mostly, we focused on baseball, movies and TV shows. Then came the Vietnam war, and that’s when we REALLY got scared.

  4. “Billions of habitable planets”? Show us one besides Earth. All of this is based on supposition and inductive reasoning. The best we can honestly say is that the POSSIBILITY of life in other parts of the galaxy and/or universe cannot be excluded. That’s it. Let’s stop this fanciful hypothesizing and concentrate on the REAL problems we face here and now on this fragile, beautiful island we call Earth.
