The electricity has to come from somewhere, and right now itâs 38% natural gas, 22% coal, 19% nuclear, 20% renewables (hydro, wind, biomass, geothermal, solar), and < 1% petroleum. The government doesnât want any more fracking (for nat gas) or nuclear, so tell me where all this additional generating capacity is coming from. Coal? Not hardly, too polluting. And the rest of renewables just wonât reliably make up the difference. Right now California is struggling to maintain its electrical grid with EVs making up only 4% of total vehicles registered. What happens when that number increases to 50%? Your ideas are unrealistic and implausible at best.
