(Genesis 3:4-5) The original promise (lie, really) of immortality was from Satan himself. Since then, mankind has been vainly trying to cheat death, rather than simply believing in our mortality. God ALONE has immortality (1 Tim. 6:16), but has graciously offered the free gift of eternal life to all those who would simply believe on His Son, Christ Jesus our Lord, "who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel." Amen.
