@nickbarrettfitness In the same vain, over here in Northern Ireland, a comparison, not on the same scale, is the hero worship of the 10 terrorists who starved themselves to death in the Maze Prison. They were a group of murderers, who had a liking for using guns and explosives to kill people. They are seen as heroes by a certain religion, not as terrorists but as freedom fighters. If they were able, they would happily erect statues for them, but they have to make do with murals painted on walls. I've spoken with work colleagues roughly the same age as me, who grew up during that era, but from the Catholic community, they have told me that when these murderers were talked about in pubs and clubs etc, their activities which landed them in prison are rarely mentioned. Can't say for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me that any history taught about the troubles these days will paint the British in a completely bad light, no doubt leaving out the many atrocious acts of violence mainly carried out by a certain group.
