@ProperBritInnit Even so, with those numbers, a large percentage aren't or won't be full on boots on the ground frontline soldiers. Obviously the main front line troops need the logistical and other support arms to do the job required, but the Army for example has always had a lot of dead wood in it.
For example a normal infantry battalion has roughly 600 men. That normally comprises 5 companies. Usually 3 rifle companies, approx 100 men each, a support company, similar numbers, and the rest make up HQ Company, the other 200 or so men. The HQ company personnel aren't really the front line troops, although they are fully trained, so could be used if required. However, their role is to support and supply the other companies with equipment, food, water, ammunition etc, basically everything to fight the battle. My point is approximately 1/3 of a basic infantry battalion are employed mainly in a non fighting role. As I was in the infantry myself, I can't speak for how the likes of a Tank Regiment operate, nor Artillery or engineers for example, but I would find it highly likely they would have a very similar set up. So even with a combined total of approximately 75k Army soldiers you are looking at roughly 1/3 won't be getting involved in any fighting directly. Although that would most likely be higher imo.

@ProperBritInnit Most certainly not a conscription model no way. Personally, I'm 17 years out of the Army, joined when I was 16. Except for my last two years, I was always frontline, served 23 years. Every part of the Army, has dead wood doing jobs a trained soldier shouldn't be doing. I'm talking some doing the job of waiter, barman, or other non military type jobs. I understand that those doing it, might be injured or whatever, so are given that job to keep them on the books, basically boosting the numbers. But come the revolution, they won't be fit or able to fight. Myself and many of my ex military friends, even though we are in our late 50s now, would never rejoin to fight overseas, however, we are mainly agreed, we would fight for our nations on home soil, if required. That's the difference now. The young generation, think joining the military today, would entail giving up the internet, as that is more important to them 😂😂😂😂.
