@NearlyFullyFree Yes I get the gist of what you are saying, however, especially with rights in this country, the police are happy to ride over them, generally without any consequences. We have quite a few people who film everything they do, thousands, if not millions of videos can show this, that the police don't care for the law. Yes complaints get put in, a measly amount of compo gets paid. Then the police and others carry on as usual. Seems we have a similar issue with police here in the UK, fortunately they don't normally resort to violence, or indeed start shooting people willy nilly, and get away with it.

@NearlyFullyFreeNot true at all. For example complaints against the police run into hundreds of thousands per year, very few are upheld. Similar system to the USA, the police investigate the police. Yes they have professional standards, staffed with police, so of course they will have a vested interest in finding one of their own innocent. Then we have the IOPC, mainly staffed with serving or ex police, so again a vested interest to help their own. It's only when they can't cover it up, so to speak then they will throw the plod under the bus. As for getting the full force of the law thrown at them, that is certainly a rare occasion, and even if they do, the sentence is pitiful, in relation to the crime. So no, even our system is out there to assist them, not us little people.

The description was correct. Let's pretend that the police person didn't know he was classed as a vulnerable missing person, so why throw him to the ground and punch him? Just because someone said something about what happened beforehand, doesn't make it true. Where was the investigation? Sounds like you are trying to justify what the police done. So going by your comment, for example, your neighbour hears you having a heated argument with your partner, and say you assaulted them, calls the police, police turn up, throw you on the ground, punch you when unconscious, I suppose that's fair enough in your opinion? Typical back the blue until it happens to you outlook.
