@solareclipsetimer the hull that Tony worked on also failed though...and many of the decisions that he made and signed off on were used again on the second hull that took lives......

I completely agree with you. Tony had the power to build a case against David Lochridge/Scott Griffith (Oceangate) in order the sever their relationship with Dave Dyer of the University of Washington (APL) but wasn't able to put the same energy into proper engineering and insisting on using proper materials (he was only there to "herd the cattle" apparently) . He sounds like an arrogant recent engineering university graduate who thinks they know everything when they graduate but really, they don't know anything at all! I lost it when he said he wouldn't go into the sub because he didn't trust the operations team....he was incapable of taking any responsibility for ANYTHING. I can go on and on...

That is the exact same feeling that I got from hearing all of the testimonies over the two weeks. I feel like Nissen is extremely guilty and pointing his finger at everyone else.

@solareclipsetimer you are very defensive of Tony Nissen and are refusing to see that he contributed to the negative culture at Oceangate...coupled with contributing poor engineering! Everyone knows that Stockton was the problem, but the "professionals" that let it happen or encouraged it, are guilty parties to this as well!

Did Tony pay you to make this?

@TrappedinSLC he was in over his head and was too arrogant to admit it. He is now blaming everyone else ...including the guy who actually DID speak up to OSHA because he didn't want people to die....

@TrappedinSLC you 100% nailed it!

Totally agree with you!!

@salland12 couldn't agree with you more on this!!

@salland12 i am so glad you brought this up! This video makes it appear that Tony was a victim but he was 100% part of the problem.

@katrinat.3032 yes he was...and he was married to the great great granddaughter of the wealthiest couple who traveled on the Titanic who co-owned Macy's department store...the family still owns Macy's to this day.

I wouldn't trust this video to be honest. It is extremely biased and tries to paint Tony in a positive light.
