That's not ignorance ๅๅทๆฌก้
. It's difficult to tell their exact ages, but my guess would be roughly between 4 to 6 weeks. Mothers have to leave the den almost immediately, for shortish durations in order to source food for themselves, then once the cubs are slightly older, Moms leave them alone for longer periods. Cubs just know through instinct to remain at the den in silence until Mom's return.
Cubs are eventually semi-abandoned by their Moms, to fend for themselves, anywhere around 1 to 1.5 years, although we did witness one Mom at Djuma abandon her poor male cub, 'Sindile' between only 9 - 9.5mths of age. He was far too young, but he coped perfectly on his own and is still thriving on another reserve not toooo far away from his birth place at Djuma.

That's a good question to ask any of the Guides during a Leopard sighting though, so don't hesitate to ask it, as I could be incorrect. ๐ฒ๐
New cubs were spotted at Djuma just a few days ago on April 17th: ๐ "WE SafariLive- Breaking! Leopard Thandi's new cubs!! Adorable!"
