I worked during the polar vortex here in Illinois. When it was -22° all night. I cannot imagine what it would have been like to have run out of battery in a traffic jam in that type of cold. At least with a gas powered vehicle someone can bring you some gas and you can heat your car. They can't bring you electricity. Even with a generator it's going to take time. And during that time you're going to freeze. Literally. -22° is nothing to fool around with.

@hansemannluchter643 do you mean because they'll explode or what? Because if they run out of battery then they're fucked. It may only take 5 seconds to pour gas in a tank but it takes time to charge a battery.

And when it comes to the emissions what about the pollution that creating the battery causes in the first place. All of those emissions are wiped out from all of the pollution that it caused just to create the battery.

@jakthebomb and it still takes time for a battery to charge sweetie. My gas tank doesn't take any time to fill. And then I just start my car. 50 seconds easy. Hell I can even listen to the radio while I wait because my car still has power! How long will your car take to charge enough to start?

I recently watched a video where a truck driver tried using an EV semi truck. He was only able to do one job in a day. It may have been two. Because of the amount of time it takes to charge those things and how little a charge they have. In a diesel truck he would have been able to get eight jobs done in a day. They want to take us back to the horse and buggy days!

@fredfred2363 because this is their goal. They're trying to destroy modern society. They don't like we the people having so much power. They want to go back to a dictator or king or emperor type of situation. Rule from top down. Best way to do that is completely destroy society so people are looking to the wealthiest to help them. It's called the great reset.

@muten861 If everyone is going to be buying EVs then it's not just a few thousand. It's all of them. So if population grows then the amount of EVs grow meaning the strain on the electrical grid grows. You're an idiot.
