This is completely new money that they didn't know about and they don't know where it came from. The comptroller is the one who found the money, the treasure is the one who invested the money and didn't tell anyone it existed.

The treasure is still the treasurer. And the treasurer knew about the slush fund he just didn't think it was his job to tell anyone about it. He just played with the money. I'm sorry invested it. Also the comptroller who inflated South Carolina's treasurery by $3.8 billion wasn't fired he resigned.

  3. I want to be part of the solution but I refuse to communicate with other people! Therefore I cannot be a part of the solution I am the problem. How is this in any way the new comptrollers problem? How could he possibly be at fault? This money was taken from the taxpayers a decade ago by the administration this treasurer worked for. He knows the account is supposed to be a zero balance account. Why would it ever not be his job to tell someone that a zero balance account has 1.8 billion in it? He is the only one who has been involved in this money the entire time. The old comptroller became incompetent and inflated things but he didn't steal money. I think we found the treasurer's slush fund.
