You've proven you refuse to follow the rules that already exist so why don't you get a say in what new rules will exist or changes to the rules that already do? Because you're being punished for not following the rules that already exist! Now if they were saying that once a person has paid their debt to society they should get their rights back I could get behind that. But these people are literally being punished for not following already established law. They don't deserve a say in what any new law should be.
