  7. Sadly this is nothing new. When I was in college 20 years ago we started accepting nursing assistants. One of the nursing assistants teachers dared give homework! The students complained to the point where the school fired her. People who wanted to assist nurses didn't want to have to do work.

Then I'm extremely reasonable. I'll probably even apologize because I understand how horrible I was. But in the moment there is no reasoning with me. My family knows this. That's why they help me. Where was Neely's family when he needed help? Why are they expecting strangers to help him in the moment?

My father was one of the last white families living in the neighborhood. To be fair the first people to leave the neighborhood were the good black families. All of our neighbors left as soon as Cabrini green came down. And then slowly but surely it got worse and worse and worse. By the time my father sold he lost money on his house. But he's the bad guy.

  22. England does not have squatters rights. And the reason the US has squatters rights is not because we believe people deserve shelter. It's because for the first hundred or so years of our existence we were a wide open space and if you stumbled upon an abandoned home and took care of it for about a decade it became yours. It did not automatically become yours and it had nothing to do with being a tenant.

He's just at precedent that if a prosecutor can't convict on their highest charge they can just dismiss it and go for another one. I wonder if they can't get it on the second highest it can dismiss that one and keep going.
