Accept these laws are older than our country so we literally pay our politicians to do this. Squatters rights are literally older than the country. Saying that politicians aren't doing their job when what they're doing is literally their job is stupid. We need to demand they make a new law or overturn the laws already on the books. We have not done that. Not a single politician has ever even mentioned squatters rights. So what the hell would we think they're going to do anything to get rid of them? The government is functioning exactly as it should. We the people aren't.

@ontherunjg So according to you millions of people should be deprived of shelter and die from exposure because you don't want landlords to exist? You do realize if we don't allow renting squatting would get a million times worse because people do need shelter to survive right? So if it's either no shelter or yours I'll steal yours.

@Acts16v31 It would make squatting a billion times worse because everyone who can't own a home would need to squat. Literally everyone who couldn't afford to buy a house would have to be a squatter. Because we wouldn't be able to rent. And we also can't survive out in the wild. It's called exposure for a reason!

There is no reason for the police to be enforcing these laws. This is what I don't understand. These laws don't help anyone they don't help the city they don't help corporations they only help criminals. There is no reason for the police to continue to enforce these laws. So why the hell do they? Aren't squatters right supposed to be for abandoned properties? 30 days is not abandonment. Neither is a house someone is clearly living in. The reason these laws were written would not have accommodated 30 days since that would have been just traveling to see your family in a different city. So why is it 30 days now? When these laws made sense it took years so why does it only take a couple of days in the modern era when we know who owns what? How do squatter's rights not violate the force amendment? We have the right to be secure in our property. If someone can just move in and take it how am I supposed to be secure in it? To be fair California not knowing that when someone sells something they don't get to keep it does make sense for California. They don't know what a woman is, they don't know you're not supposed to shit on the street, they don't know that illegals aren't supposed to be bombarding their beaches. They don't know a lot of things.
