@otm646 EVs are very low cost to make, only the battery is the most costly part due to lithium is expensive, all other parts are just made from two cheap raw materials: iron ore and petroleum. China makes all those parts easily from two raw materials, costs almost nothing to make an EV car. China itself is the complete supply chain. Today's EV factories in China are fully automated with robotic arms that cost only pennies to run instead of costly human labor. There's plenty of profit for the maker company of this car in China, the total production cost for this car except the battery is less than USD$2l1,000.
