  1. Being a Boston area resident for almost half a century -- I doubt there is much to do to improve it, especially for out-of-towners. My suggestion is that if you're from out of the area, don't drive in Boston. For those of us who live in the area, it's not a problem to drive in. We know which lane to get in that get us to where we need to be. Local's don't have a major issue with getting around Boston. Trimming lanes (for bike paths or to limit options) just f- things up.
