  1.  @Schreibtisch1  I stand corrected, I watched that and some other NHTS style crash tests. It sounds like Mercedes did their engineering well - which I guess is no surprise. They've been a leader in that since the 70's. I withdraw my snarky skepticism.

  3.  @Silver_o  Yeah, that is always the objective. But sometimes things reach out and hit you. With no crush zones, the physics does note bode well the occupent of a Smart Car if the other vehicle is anything bigger than another Smart Car.
