  1. Even "in the day" (i.e. the 1970's) everyone would complain about how Porsches had put on size, weight and price compared to their cars of the 1950s. Car and Driver held up the Karmann Ghia as "today's Speedster" that offered 90% of the experiance of a Porsche Speedster, for half the price! (...of a used Speedster of the time)
