  1. The 280ZX was not a sibling of the 280Z, but the replacement. It fell between the 280Z and the all together different 300ZX. As such, it's kind of the awkward 'tweener. A new bigger and more luxurious chassis than the Z, but just an update of the earlier motor with more pollution control gizmos to strangle the performance. The 300ZX was an altogether new car and V6 engine.
