If Finland joins NATO Russia threatened it will move troops to their shared boarder -- which troops specifically? If they are moved out of the Ukraine, that wouldn't be a bad thing.

The images of the infrastructure projects in Pakistan at around 5:41 got me wondering if China builds these infrastructure projects as poorly as they do the infrastructure at home in China. If so, this infrastructure will have a very limited lifespan before it will start to crumble.

As far as clearing the mines, a precedent was set at the end of WWII when the Allies had the same people clear them who put them there in the first place -- namely the German soldiers. I suggest that the Russian solders work off their POW time contributing to the demining efforts before they are repatriated.

At 1:56 they needed to show scary pictures of plumes coming out of evaporating towers, when in fact the plumes are nothing but water vapor.

I think that people have mis-understood China's zero-COVID strategy. The strategy has really been to admit zero cases of COVID over the last couple of years no matter what the reality.

But don't worry. Germany's socialized healthcare system is a model for the world and what many over here in the US are telling us we should adopt.

@hatsross1295 I wonder how those ratings are calculated. For those who live elsewhere in the world and need sophisticated, top tier medical procedures -- they don't go to Canada, the UK, Germany. or any of those 40 countries. They vote with their feet -- and make sure that they get to the US.

The government wanted to increase debt in order to make transfer payments. "The problem with Socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money" -- Margaret Thacher. I think that sums up the problem.

They lost me when they said that the fact that "for some, water is down to the last drop", and held this to be an existential threat. Sure, there will always be draughts and floods. But we still exist as a water world with the majority of the surface of our planet covered by water, and that surface is then wrapped in an atmosphere steeped in water. The local lack of (or excess of) water is not an existential threat, but the same localized challenge that we've faced since before histories were kept. Since this group of people (and others) have been making predictions for many years, the conversation should really begin with a discussion of the accuracy of their predictions from 10 or 20 years ago before we lean in too far to interpret their latest prognostications.

Gail Helt's "expert" comments at 1:47 didn't age well.

That statistic strains credibility. Either they are being generous in the definition of "mass", or else they have suddenly discovered all of the shooting deaths in Chicago, NYC and other major cities -- most of which already have strict gun laws. So if the strict gun laws in those cities don't prevent criminals and violent people from getting guns, what makes people think that even stricter laws will have an impact?

The introduction of the expert via "Trump's impeachment" is a complete non-sequitor and unprofessional. It's clear that he was brought on just for the purpose of arguing against him. DW deminishes their status with stuff like this.

I've seen that and similar comparisons like colder in Ohio than on Mars. But you don't even need to read the fine print to see that they are making an "apples to oranges" comparison, in so much as they are comparing the wind-chill in Ohio to the actual measured temperature on Mars. Folks - Wind-chill is not temperature! Wind-chill is a poor measure since it is different for different people, and can change by a 10' change in location. Temperature on the other hand is a specific physical measure, with a consistent meaning in all places and at all times.

@abigailcollins8443 interesting and good point. I certainly wasn't suggesting that the Geneva Conventions be violated. But I guess that is for the lawyers to work out.
