As I said to my wife recently after something I said about the Chinese govt was taken personally (she knows it's not against her, but they're raised to view criticisms about the govt as personal criticism. It's an automatic reaction that still surfaces after literal decades away) If I linked all Chinese people to the CCP, I wouldn't be able to look at her. I'd also have problems with our daughter.

@YouTubeCensorsMe there's supporting them, then there's feeling personally attacked when something they're conditioned to take personally comes up. Two different things. Actually supporting them means that giving five minutes to calm down doesn't work. The emotional response can be overcome with giving time to calm down. Then rational thought is possible. Context here was pointing out that once you've crossed the line of killing children parents actually want, there's nothing you can't do. She was raised having it repeated over and over again that this was perfectly ok. The Taiwan ones used to be similarly interesting. She's broken that bit of conditioning a long time ago though. We're talking about literal brainwashing here. It can be overcome, but takes a little more than "oh you had the reaction you've been brainwashed to automatically have? Well F*CK you"
