  2. The problem with this is the CCP ignores agreements the moment they're inconvenient. Which means the only way to get any real improvement is to keep pressure on. The only time the CCP will stick to an agreement is when the immediate consequence of breaking it is worse.

  3. Even if the PRC govt agreed to leave the south China Sea in exchange, they'd be back as soon as food production increased again. The agreement would quickly become a historical document of no legal relevance.
