@Dave_Sisson it would, probably one of the differences is monarchies.
Like... A third of Australia is named after Queen Victoria, and that's just taking Victoria and Queensland.
There's also plenty named after early politicians (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland if we include NZ), not to mention explorers (Cooktown) and of course, Darwin, which on fact checking I see was named after lord Palmerston for a while.
I'm in Hong Kong now, plenty named after royalty and political figures. Southorn was particularly confusing until I found it was a name, not a misspelled geographic direction.
Granted, nothing new that I can think of, but you need a few decades to get a clearer perspective.
