@ioogleio See, until you can give a 'Yes' to that question, your statement about anything being illegal means nothing. Because laws don't matter when they inconvenience the party. More accurately, powerful people within the party. Because any organisation is nothing more or less than the people within it. So what we have here is that China did it until at least 2014, in situations that are incredibly unethical. And then it made a change that's meaningless until China has an independent legal system. And you wonder why people in HK aren't exactly thrilled about being sent to the mainland for trial. Also, I'll judge whoever I like however I like. Good luck stopping it, but please continue to use that overdone 'china is special' whine.

I support the Catalonians as well. The reaction was disgraceful. But say what you like about the Spanish, they're not famous for using torture (anymore) killing political dissidents (anymore) or harvesting the organs of dissidents. But anyway, I'm sure there's more whataboutisms you can get. Defending the CCP on its merits seems to be pretty difficult.

You're not too bright. That's fine. It's a symptom common to pro-CCP people. Cancel all trade deals and the Chinese economy crashes. The CCP's claim to legitimacy has moved on from the obvious failure that is making Socialism work well enough to transition to Communism (All those dead. For nothing) to a strong economy. The Chinese economy crashes. Unemployment rises. People start watching everything they've worked, sweated and bled for over the last four decades (since the CCP started undoing Mao's truly epic fuckups. The CCP's accomplishments have relied on Mao having the common decency to die) disappear, and more importantly, their faith in the party's economic management is shattered. Which leads to mass uprisings. Which leads to their downfall and the breakup of the PRC (Because there's no peaceful way to get rid of the CCP, the downfall is going to be utterly catastrophic)

@ioogleio I live in Hong Kong. I've been coming to China for the last 15 years. If your statement about organ harvesting is anywhere near as inaccurate as your views of people who've been to China, there's more organ harvesting going than even the most pessimistic estimates.

That's been a major thing from within the PRC over the last four months. Vague, undefined consequences that never eventuate. In Hong Kong we've been hearing about an army on the border, ready to invade since... What? June? A literal statement about crushed bodies earlier in the week. National Week has been and gone (and this threat was coming a long time before that) which was an excuse given for mainlanders as to why nothing had been done yet and still nothing. At this point it looks like empty bluster from leadership who have no idea of how to get out of the hole they've dug themselves into.

Yeah, it's just a variation of 'China is special, don't question it' - I've been hearing it for fifteen years on every subject from political to medical. It's really nothing more than another way of saying "I don't know what I'm talking about, hopefully if I say this, the other person will stop" Which falls under the same category of the things Xi has been saying. Calling everyone racist, blah blah blah. It has a very limited lifespan before it stops working. We can see that's happening now. Every country is now turning on the PRC, because Xi has overused the same tired old lines to the point people stop listening to excuses, and only focus on the actions of the PRC under the Xi dominated CCP. Same thing is happening with the HK govt. It's said the same bollocks so many times the people have simply stopped listening to it. They've even stopped listening to the constant 'subtle' threats of invasion and massacre we get from the pro-Beijingers and Beijing itself.

From Xi to the lowliest Wumao, the pro Beijingers seem to be completely clueless as to how to deal with anyone where force isn't an option. The Hong Kong protests have been a pointless farce bought on and exacerbated by imbeciles who seem to have absolutely zero ability to predict even the most obvious reactions.

They're basically promises to pay X amount on Y date. 2. Even if they could, they do that and the RMB goes up in value. Same effect as tarrifs 3. The PRC bought them for its own reasons. @leekh2125 about 3/4 of US debt is held internally. China holds less US govt debt (in USD) than the US holds Chinese corporate debt (in USD. Which means that if the RMB drops, repayments rise) As far as survival vs progress goes.... If the US went down to China's level, that would be a drop of catastrophic proportions. It would be unthinkable. A massive shrinkage of the economy. China is healing from Mao. And that healing is becoming more difficult every year,.

So many Wu Mao reading the same lines, you'd have at least thought they'd get someone competent to do it. Although from watching how the CCP and its puppets have cocked up in dealing with Hong Kong, I don't think anyone in leadership there is capable of dealing with anyone they can't shoot.

@leekh2125 good for a holiday. Glad I'm able to leave. Went to the mainland last month and it's amazing how much is falling apart. Everything is either brand new or disintegrating. Love how you're attempting to make this personal though. Speaks volumes that you're obviously reading what's said (despite your previous lie about not reading) but can't think of a response. Then again, I'd hate to be the one whose job it was to make the PRC look good. My job is difficult, yours is impossible.

What's even more important is the ability to change who's in power peacefully. We know what will happen when the governments in our own countries fall. It happens (or almost happens) every few years. In the PRC? Civil war is really not out of the question. Thanks to the constitutional amendment that was really only there to benefit one man out of 1.4 billion, there isn't even a peaceful way to change the CCP leadership. Let alone the organisation that runs China. What that amendment does do, though, is highlight that when the CCP needs to choose between itself and China, it doesn't choose China.

A lot has changed between April and now. Then again, you seem to think that telling someone not to judge something you like will stop that person doing that. Reality isn't your friend.
