  1. China's "economic miracle" came out as a result of Deng allowing in capitalism. It isn't a socialist success story, it's a socialist failure story. Same country. Same people. More or less than same style of government. The difference between tens of millions starving and the relative prosperity we see today. (don't pay too much attention to places that aren't the centres of shanghai, Shenzhen or Beijing though)
