  4. From an ideal POV, I'd agree. From a real world POV, that logic just leads us down a path where, due to limited resources, there's always something that's not being focused on, which people could then point to as a diversion. It's a big world. There's lots of bad things happening. There's always something that's missing. Those other things might not be as harmful, but they don't need to be. All they need is for someone who wants a diversion to claim they are.

  5. @T Temp  it's nice to know that you think what the US does represents the highest level of practical morality. Edit: or in this case, what I do apparently represents the highest level of practical morality. Which is pretty much how Christians view Jesus when it comes to morality.

  6.  @ttemp2631  so why use the fact that the US does somewhat similar stuff to excuse other actions? If the US is the lowest level, tou should be trying to be better. Not excusing it because Jesus, I mean the US, does it.

  9.  @MinZilla  That would make sense. And as much as it seems wasteful for the military to buy that much stuff they don't need, finding out they don't have enough stuff when they actually do need it seems worse, somehow...

  10. I'd recently had someone say similar about Saudi Arabia. To which I replied with examples the first page of a fairly simple google search showing several examples, including one from a few days ago, showing them reporting on Saudi Arabia's activities in Yemen.
