@snowlee-ml7rr that ratio was true... I guess 2010 or so. But to give numbers, this has gone.... For the USA. In 2012, it was 99.6 percent. In 2019 (before the CCP virus messed with everything) it was 106.6 percent. (an increase of 7 percent) In 2020 it shot up to 126 percent. Now it's 122 percent. So in the last 11 years, it's gone up by 23 percent. Most of that increase was due to the virus. Now it's declining. For the PRC: In 2013 it was 34 percent of GDP. In 2019 (before the CCP virus messed everything it was 60.4 percent. (an increase of 26 percent) Then it went to 70.1 percent in 2020. As of 2023 it's 83.6 percent. A full six percent higher than 2022. So in 11 years, it's gone up by 50 percent. Sure, it's lower as a percentage according to official numbers now. But what does this trajectory tell us about the future? A future in which growth is continuing to slow? A future in which the PRC's population is getting increasingly geriatric. A future where we see the consequences of getting old before you get rich.

@martian9999 if you look at China's demographics, yeah it's too late. They were in a race to get rich before they got old. They lost.
