@MeecoMucoTiger You mean, tax rate in Japan is outrageous? How high is it?
8
@ip3vk Zoey said KIDS in Japan, not adults. Life of young students are different from that of fully grown adults.
6
@gordonbgraham Agreed. I still don't understand why it's taking so much time for people to notice South Korea is where the working hours is one of the longest among the OECD nations.
4
@dzonikg You felt safe because you're white/European. For people without any European ancestry, I bet Europe isn't that much safe.
4
@Toro_Da_Corsa And Australia has embraced totalitarian dictatorship by enforcing COVID lockdowns and vaccine mandates. Who in his/her right mind would want to live there? The total period of COVID lockdowns in Melbourne, VIC was even much worse than in North Korea!
2
@Simm JJ You don't need to compromise anything in safety & hygiene to be happy! What have you been smoking? That's like telling someone to move to Afghan or Somalia or Syria or Iraq or etc. to pursue happiness, which is COMPLETE EFFING BULLOCKS!
2
@roxycorner1358 Agreed. Most of the Korean students who were born since the mid to late 80s have been bullied at least more than once sometime in their lifetime. Includes but not limited to, verbal, physical, online chats, etc.

@vitkomusic6624 Sorry to hear that bro..Anglo countries have gone so downhill in the 21st century, while multiple Asian countries, several Central/Eastern European countries and Russia are doing better than in the past.
2
@BreezyE-d3n Are you sure it's Thailand? I thought Hawaii and Brazil had the biggest Japanese population outside of Japan
2
@MrProzacmilkshake 1991 in AU or 1991 in US?
1
@myjizzureye Dude, the demand vs. supply balance changes from time to time, so the situation can be vastly different each year especially during these times. Modern society is much more fast-paced when it comes to social changes. Nobody can predict what's in store for hard-working students (a.k.a God knows what or "It's beyond me")

@RavenFeathers90 Then which country has a good balance of both collectivism and individualism? Maybe Turkiye?
1
@RavenFeathers90 And what about other English speaking countries(such as Canada, UK, etc.) and Western European countries like Germany? Do they also represent extreme individualism?
1
@rafaelbogdan9307 No single country is thriving in the current situation. Getting out "just like that" isn't the fundamental solution. I think it's time to start learning Russian. I'm not saying Russia is likely to thrive in the near future, but at least they're sanctions-proof and rich in natural resources. Furthermore, when all the ice on North Pole melts, Russia could potentially become a superpower. If someone wants to move to a different country, the criteria should no longer be based on whether which other nations are likely to thrive (Because those days are now over), but on which countries are relatively more resilient during turbulent times like these and whether which country has the best potential to be a superpower.

@mysteriousxeno224 But didn't that all change after the COVID crisis?
1
@meanwhileinjapan2265 No, it's actually underrated. South Korea is the overrated country.
1
@foggysloth Have you not heard of the wild typhoons that sweep through Okinawa every year?
1
@riyadougla539 Weird in what way? Please define "weird" in this context. And US isn't the only English-speaking country.
1
@dzonikg You mean, you don't see how Europe is not safe for non-whites? It's because you're white/European.
1
@abdullahabubakar7200 Agreed. Asia is a VAST continent.
1
@patricksweeney5308 S. Korea's birth rate is lower for sure
1
@thandisilec835 Japanese culture is too unique and too homogeneous to allow immigrants in.
1
Are you saying Japanese students haven't shown much ambition compared to Chinese and Korean students when it comes to academics?
1
@vinamrasinghai2339 That doesn't make sense because in the modern world we're living in, MONEY TALKS
1
Suicide rate in S. Korea is higher than in Japan and average working hours are longer in S. Korea than in Japan too
