  1. The illustration of the early farmer's market at :14 through:19 is really detailed. I used to never go to our local farmer's market on Saturday mornings because I was too hungover. But now I'd like to attend the one in Soulard, since it was the first to occur west of the Mississippi River. Impressive! Thanks for another great history lesson.

  3. Maria, that's pretty amazing. You must know that entire area like the back of your hand. I have only stayed in the Soulard District once, at a friend's place, in order to attend a birthday celebration. I thought the area had a lot of character, but it would be years before I learned the history.
