  1. ​ @msbeecee1 I'm right there with you. I have two dogs left and am committed to seeing them through to the natural conclusions of their lives. After that, I'm done. My parents are gone, I have no children or grandchildren, and relatives live in other states and couldn't care less. Long-time friends moved away. I check in with them, but they don't reach out in return.

  2. Wow. You're the only person who has explained the "we're different kinds of crazy" friends. I never looked or dressed like them, but yes, they looked on the outside how I felt on the inside. Yet I couldn't identify with the people who looked like me - the "girl next door" look. I was a misfit inside a misfit even AMONG other misfits. I cannot alter the life-changing incidents that occurred and others cannot see them in my face when they stand before me. I know they're not capable of understanding and so I try to "keep it light" but doing so feels like a denial. To make things worse, past therapists have told me they'll be with me through my journey of healing, but one by one, they quit.
