Government mainly reacts to the will of the ppl and they are manipulated by media hype and misguided notions. No excuses for any of it tho.

Easy to romanticize about the past but it was FAR worse overall 50 yrs ago--our rivers were so polluted they'd catch fire, cities were burning from race riots and the war against the Vietnam war, murder, rape and violent crime was 2X worse. Don't even think about admitting you are gay, everyone was much poorer.

We need that for the entire state. I'm not optimistic but there have been precedents of the pendulum swinging the other way--R. Reagan, Arnold.....even the Duke.

@frutbum In my country it all comes back to the we the people, 'most' of whom are pawns of popular press. I'm disgusted with half of our citizenry. (USA) Why don't they just shut themselves in for a decade and let the rest of us take our chances?
