  1. beanny39 In the US we already transfer power long distances and the average loss from source to consumer is about 10%, not a deal breaker. As options get better and cheaper most houses in the US should produce at least as much as they consume just from their own roof not counting EVs which may double or triple what a house otherwise uses, in sunny areas even that should be available from the roof alone at current panel efficiencies which could double over time. I believe we will see the cheapest electric in history within a decade extrapolating from gains of the previous couple decades.
